Logo Screen Grabs- Lock

This is my initial radio station logo design for 'Lock'. I created this by simply putting my draft idea and my photoshop skills together and this created this logo. Then, I changed the colour to yellow to bring some life to the logo. I started to put the black bolts on the guitar which gave it some detail, this was done by selecting the circle shape tool. I had some difficulty putting the "strings" onto the guitar because the line tool was used but I found it quite challenging to get the lines straight. The logo started coming alive but I needed to add the characteristics of the 'lock', this was done by selecting a circle tool and an oval shaped circle and I then free transformed them to make them look more like a lock. To add a clearer understanding for the audience, I imported a picture of a key and a guitar pick, then I used the same technique as before to create a custom shape of these two objects. To make a key styled guitar pick, I put one layer over the other to make them blend together and this brought my idea together. I am overly pleased with how this came out because I was exactly the same to my idea and nothing had to be changed.

To start with, I created a transparent background of A4 size. I then imported a picture of a guitar and created a custom shape of this.

I used the pen tool to go around the edge of the guitar very carefully and eventually I created a custom shape.

Using the paint bucket tool, I filled the shape with a yellow colour because it is bright and it would therefore attract the audience. I then used the ellipse shape tool to add some detail to the guitar and these shapes would form the buttons.

I then used some black lines and a rectangle shape to add further detail to the guitar and this made it look more realistic.

To add a bit of understanding to the logo, I used the ellipse tool again and varied the composition and size of them to represent a keyhole. This links with the name of the logo which is Lock.

I then imported an image of a key and used the pen tool to create a custom shape of it. This would be the front of the guitar pick which would make the design more clearer for the audience.

I imported a typical guitar pick and used the pen tool to follow the edge of the picture to create a custom shape.

This was coloured in red because the link between the family of logos would be the colour so I had to make sure this theme would be portrayed throughout.

This is my completed logo with the logo of the company Ow! Music. To create the logo I used an orange custom shape of a circle without the middle and this created the edge of the logo. I then typed in Ow! Music in a green font which labelled whole design with the company name. I also added the logo name of Lock to add identity to the design.
